AB  - Amaç: Diyabetik ayak, hastanede yatış süresini uzatan ve yaşam kalitesini azaltan amputasyon gibi komplikasyonlara ve yaşam kaybına neden olan ciddi bir sorundur. Bu araştırmada, Tip 2 Diyabetes Mellituslu (DM) hastalarda diyabetik ayak ülserini önlemede termal değerlendirmenin etkisini belirlemek amaçlandı.Yöntem: Prospektif, paralel (1:1), iki gruplu (termal değerlendirme, kontrol) bu randomize kontrollü çalışma, Konya’da bir üniversite hastanesinin Endokrinoloji ve Genel Dahiliye kliniklerinde 2020-2023 yılları arasında yürütüldü. Araştırmanın örneklemini 18 yaş ve üzeri, Tip 2 DM tanılı 70 hasta oluşturdu. Randomizasyonla her gruba 35 hasta atandı. Veri toplayan araştırmacı, hasta ve yakınları grup atamasına körlendi. Tüm hastalara araştırmacı tarafından yapılandırılmış günlük ayak bakım girişimleri uygulandı. Hasta ve yakınlarının telefonuna ayak bakım videosu yüklendi. Kontrol kolundan farklı olarak termal değerlendirme kolundaki hastalara, yatışın ilk günü dijital infrared termometre ile termal değerlendirme uygulandı. Termal değerlendirme eğitim videosu hasta ve yakının telefonuna yüklendi. Tüm hastalar bir yıl süresince araştırmacı tarafından iki ayda bir evlerinde kontrol edildi. Araştırma öncesi etik kurul ve kurum izni alındı.Uygulamada kullanım: Araştırma bulgularının, diyabetik ayak ülserlerini önlemede termal değerlendirmenin etkinliğine yönelik kanıt temelli bilgi sağlama ve bakım protokollerinin oluşturulmasına rehberlik etme potansiyeli vardır.Clinical Trials ID: NCT04480801
