AB  - Yüzyıllardır tartışılmakta olan ve yeni anlamların üretilmeye devam ettiği mekân kavramı hakkında, kartezyen yönüyle, duyumsal yönüyle ve hala keşfedilmekte olan yeni anlamlarıyla literatürde yeni pencereler açılmaya devam etmektedir. Geometrik olarak ölçülebilen mekânın ve duyumsal mekânın tespit edilebilir yönleri daha anlaşılır bir noktada dururken, her iki yönden de tam olarak açıklanamayan ve yeni bir tanıma ihtiyaç duyulan üçüncü mekân türü tasarımcıların, filozofların ve araştırmacıların çalışma konusu haline gelmiştir. Bu tespitlerin somut mekâna yansıması ise çoğunlukla nitel yöntemler ile sağlanmaktadır. Ancak nitel yöntemlerin sağladığı yadsınamaz katkıya rağmen zaman zaman nicel bir metot ile desteklenme ihtiyacı duyulmaktadır. Bu araştırma sorusundan yola çıkarak çalışmanın amacı, üçüncü mekân kavramının tespitine yardımcı olabilecek nicel bir yöntem önerisi sunmak ve mekân kavramının soyut yönlerini somut yöntemler ile birleştirme olasılığını değerlendirmektir. Birincil yöntem olarak nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden genel tarama modeli kullanılarak literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Ardından nicel yöntemlerden mekân dizimi yöntemi kullanılarak, çalışmanın amacına uygun bir yol izlenmiştir. Mekân dizimi programlarından biri olan DepthmapX yazılımından faydalanarak Kadıköy Bölgesi’nde bulunan altı yapının harita ölçümleri yapılmış, nitel yöntemler ile yapılan tespitlerin nicel bir yöntemle tutarlılığı ölçülmüştür. Üçüncü mekân kavramının hermönetik değerlendirilmesine ek olarak; nicel bir yöntemle desteklenmesine yardımcı olacak bir öneri sunmak açısından; bu araştırmanın gerekli olduğu düşünülmüştür.

N2  - New windows continue to be opened in the literature about the concept of space, which has been discussed for centuries and where new meanings continue to be produced, with its cartesian aspect, sensuous aspect and new meanings that are still being discovered. While the detectable aspects of geometrically measurable space and sensory space stand at a more understandable point, the third type of space, which cannot be fully explained from both sides and needs a new definition, has become the subject of study of designers, philosophers and researchers. The reflection of these determinations on concrete space is mostly provided by qualitative methods. However, despite the undeniable contribution of qualitative methods, there is a need to support it with a quantitative method from time to time.Based on this research question, the aim of the study is to propose a quantitative method that can help determine the concept of third space and to evaluate the possibility of combining the abstract aspects of the concept of space with concrete methods. As the primary method, a literature review was conducted using the general survey model, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Then, by using the spatial constellation method, which is one of the quantitative methods, a path suitable for the purpose of the study was followed. By using DepthmapX software, which is one of the spatial constellation programs, map measurements of six buildings in the Kadıköy Region were made, and the consistency of the determinations made with qualitative methods was measured by a quantitative method. In addition to the hermeneutic evaluation of the concept of third space; in terms of providing a proposal to help support it with a quantitative method; This research was considered necessary.
