The main purpose of the study was to assess the forgiveness levels of university students and to examine these levels across various variables. Along with the main purpose, the study also had sub-objectives such as determining the forgiveness levels of university students, implementing a spiritually oriented forgiveness program to improve students’ forgiveness, providing group counseling to students, and applying a pretest-posttest technique to determine whether the program made a difference in students’ forgiveness levels. The significance of the study lies in implementing a spiritually oriented program with individuals in early adulthood and contributing to the field of spiritual counseling. Furthermore, the study is also significant in demonstrating that university students’ forgiveness tendencies are supported by spirituality. The research was conducted using a mixed-method. Data were collected using a scale technique and analyzed with SPSS. The experimental design utilized a pretest-posttest technique. The study was conducted with 453 university students (303 female, 150 male). The book consists of six parts: an introduction, four separate chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the purpose, significance, and limitations of the study. The first chapter provides information on the concept of forgiveness, models of forgiveness, factors affecting forgiveness, and research on forgiveness. The second chapter discusses the research model, sample characteristics, inclusion and exclusion criteria, the measurement tool used in the study, determining the location and time of implementation of the Spiritually Oriented Forgiveness Program, and the research hypotheses. The third chapter examines whether forgiveness levels differ across variables such as gender, age, socioeconomic status, faculty of study, subjective perception of religiosity, perception of family religiosity, the impact of religious belief on life, frequency of performing the five daily prayers, and society’s perception of forgiveness. The fourth chapter examines the development of the Spiritually Oriented Forgiveness Program, applications of forgiveness programs in the literature, the program’s preparation, the program’s six-session implementation to examine its effectiveness in increasing university students’ forgiveness levels, the process, and its evaluation. The conclusion chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the findings from each chapter. The appendix contains information on the Spiritually Oriented Forgiveness Program. It appears that the questions formulated in accordance with the purpose of the study were answered. The findings of each chapter are supported by findings from the literature. These findings are presented in tables and illustrated. The bibliography demonstrates the availability of both primary and current sources. While the research’s focus on the approaches of prominent figures in Turkish-Anatolian culture strengthens the study, it could have been further supported by the inclusion of verses and hadiths related to forgiveness. The book is a valuable resource for those interested in psychology, positive psychology, and the psychology of religion.}, number={5}, publisher={Ordu Üniversitesi}, organization={Bu araştırmayı desteklemek için dış fon kullanılmamıştır.}
