AB  - Bu çalışma, Türkiye'nin Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde yer alan Van Gölü Havzası’nda turizm, çevre koruma ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma arasındaki etkileşimi ele almaktadır. Bu kapsamda çalışma, havzanın fiziksel–ekolojik özelliklerini, mevcut koruma statülerini ve turizm baskısının mekânsal dağılımını birlikte değerlendirerek koruma–kullanım dengesinin sahaya yansımasını tartışmakta; planlama ve yönetim açısından öncelik alanlarını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Eşsiz doğal ve kültürel değerlere sahip bu bölge, artan turizm faaliyetlerinin çevresel etkileriyle karşı karşıyadır. Literatürde yer alan güncel araştırmalar, koruma–kullanım dengesi kurularak sürdürülebilir bir turizm modelinin geliştirilmesi gereğine işaret etmektedir. Bulgular, Van Kalesi–Tuşba–İpekyolu kentsel büyüme aksı, Ahlat–Adilcevaz kıyı bandı ve Gevaş–Edremit sahilleri gibi noktalarda kullanım çakışmalarının yoğunlaştığını; tarım–turizm, yerleşim–ekosistem ve kıyı rekreasyonu ile doğa temelli faaliyetler arasındaki etkileşimlerin belirginleştiğini göstermektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışma, literatür taraması ile mekânsal/işlevsel ve statü analizlerini bir araya getirerek ekolojik altyapı bütünlüğü, sulak alan rejimi, habitat duyarlılıkları, ziyaretçi/erişim yönetimi ve taşıma kapasitesi gibi unsurları birlikte ele almaktadır. Sonuç olarak çalışma, doğal kaynakların korunmasını merkeze alan, yerel toplulukları sürece dahil eden ve izleme–geri besleme adımlarını içeren uyarlanabilir bir turizm yönetimi yaklaşımını önermektedir.

N2  - This study examines the interaction between tourism, environmental conservation, and sustainable development in the Van Lake Basin, located in Turkey’s Eastern Anatolia Region. In this context, the study jointly evaluates the basin’s physical–ecological characteristics, existing protection statuses, and the spatial distribution of tourism pressure, discussing how the conservation–use balance is reflected on the ground and identifying priority areas for planning and management. The region, which hosts outstanding natural and cultural assets, faces environmental impacts arising from increasing tourism activities. Recent literature points to the necessity of developing a sustainable tourism model by establishing a conservation–use balance. The findings indicate that use conflicts intensify at specific locations such as the Van Castle–Tuşba–İpekyolu urban growth axis, the Ahlat–Adilcevaz shoreline, and the Gevaş–Edremit coasts; interactions between agriculture–tourism, settlement–ecosystem, and coastal recreation and nature-based activities become more pronounced. Accordingly, the study brings together literature review with spatial/functional and status analyses to address elements such as ecological infrastructure integrity, wetland regimes, habitat sensitivities, visitor/access management and carrying capacity. In conclusion, the study proposes an adaptive tourism management approach that centers on the conservation of natural resources, includes local communities in decision-making processes, and incorporates monitoring–feedback cycles.
