Erkek katılımcıların 67’si (%37,4) kadınların 18’i (%25,4) ergojenik destek ürünlerini kullandıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcıların %30’u ergojenik destek ürünleri konusunda uzman görüşü alırken %70’i uzman görüşüne başvurmamıştır. Ergojenik destek ürünü kullanan bireylerin %78,8’i antrenörlerinin önerdiğini belirtmiştir. Ergojenik destek ürünü kullanan katılımcıların %48,7’si kas kütlesini arttırmak, %23,1’i, spor performansını arttırmak, %12,8’i zayıflamak, %12,8’i fiziki görünüş için ergojenik destek ürünlerini kullanmaktadır. En çok kullanılan ergojenik destek ürünlerinin başında protein tozları yer almaktadır. Katılımcıların 20’si (%32,8)’i internetten, 18’i (%29,5) spor salonundan, 14’ü (%23,0) antrenöründen, 3’ü (%4,9) arkadaşlarından, 1’i (%1,6) eczaneden ve 5’i (%8,2) diğer kaynaklardan besinsel ergojenik destek ürünlerinin temin ettiğini bildirmiştir. KW - Fiziksel aktivite KW - Besin ergojeniği KW - Spor salonları N2 - This study aimed to examine the physical activity levels and the rates of ergogenic aid use among individuals who attend gyms for recreational purposes. A total of 255 volunteers—72 women and 183 men—who go to gyms in the province of Manisa for recreational exercise participated in the study. In this section of the research, a personal information form prepared by the researcher and a questionnaire related to the use of nutritional ergogenic aids were utilized. To determine participants’ physical activity levels, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 25 software package. The results were presented using frequency, arithmetic mean, and percentage (%) values. Of the male participants, 67 (37.4%) reported using ergogenic aids, compared to 18 (25.4%) of the female participants. While 30% of the participants consulted a specialist about ergogenic aids, 70% did not seek expert advice. Among those who used ergogenic aids, 78.8% stated that their trainer recommended the products. Of the users, 48.7% used ergogenic aids to increase muscle mass, 23.1% to enhance sports performance, 12.8% to lose weight, and 12.8% for physical appearance. Protein powders were reported as the most commonly used ergogenic aid. Of the participants, 20 (32.8%) reported obtaining nutritional ergogenic aids from the internet, 18 (29.5%) from gyms, 14 (23.0%) from their trainers, 3 (4.9%) from friends, 1 (1.6%) from a pharmacy, and 5 (8.2%) from other sources.
