Mevcut çalışma, alanda yeterli çalışmanın olmadığını ve daha fazla araştırmaya ihtiyaç duyulduğunu vurgulamaktadır KW - İşitme Engelli KW - Psikoterapi KW - İletişim N2 - The study discusses the challenges faced by hearing-impaired people as well as the therapeutic process. The primary challenge addressed is communication. The development of verbal language is adversely affected by congenital hearing impairment. Socialization and the utilization of mental health treatments are impeded by hearing impairment. In general, mental health practitioners lack the necessary skills to effectively interact with people who have hearing impairments. Although using interpreters makes communication easier, there are drawbacks, including concerns about confidentiality, mistransmitted signals, and altered therapeutic relationship dynamics. For a more successful method, it is advised that therapists learn sign language. Hearing impaired individuals may face a variety of problems including social withdrawal, aggression, anxiety, depression, loneliness and stigma. Less verbal, tangible, and visual methods (painting, sand play, creative drama) as well as methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR have been found to be successful in the therapeutic process. The review highlights the need for additional studies. CR - Abbady, A. S., & Ezzat, E. M. (2023).
