Chemical fertilizer applications are significant inputs to every agricultural production. However, using chemical fertilizers has undesirable consequences, such as degradation of the environment and ecological balance. Recently, nanotechnology and nano fertilizers in agriculture have developed as promising alternatives. In the present study, the effect of nano-silica (NSi) applications on the nutrient uptake of the arugula plants, the production of which is increasing in the world and our country, was investigated. The study, which was designed according to randomized experimental design with three replications under climate chamber conditions, control (NSi0- no nano silica treatment), and four doses (NSi40: 40 mg kg-1, NSi60: 60 mg kg-1, NSi80: 80 mg kg-1 and NSi100: 100 mg kg-1) NSi treatments were applied. At the end of the study, chlorophyll content, dry matter ratio, and some macro-micro nutrient uptake in arugula leaves were determined. The study’s results determined that NSi80 application increased chlorophyll and dry matter content. In general, it was observed that nutrient uptake increased with increasing nano silica dose. NSi100 dose increased potassium uptake by about 81% compared to the control. In conclusion, Nsi applications increased the growth and development of arugula plants and positively affected nutrient uptake.}, number={3}, publisher={Harran Üniversitesi}, organization={TUBİTAK}
