Grounded in feminist theory and critical discourse theory, the research draws on legal texts, policy documents, media content, and educational materials. Findings show that Iran defines the family through Islamic-patriarchal norms, limiting women to roles of motherhood and wifehood, whereas in France, despite a growing emphasis on gender equality, the legacy of familialism persists. The study highlights how political regimes shape gender norms and aims to contribute to the development of more egalitarian family discourses.
