For teachers, it is often challenging to maintain students’ motivation during reading activities, as many learners commonly struggle with attention and focus. Speaking skills also play a crucial role in the language learning process. However, many language learners experience anxiety when trying to understand the main idea of reading or speaking materials, or feel overwhelmed when completing tasks such as fill-in-the-blank exercises during reading sessions. This research article aims to explore the cognitive processes of foreign language learners and the barriers they face during reading and speaking activities. Rather than simply identifying general strategies, the study will investigate how Content-Based Language Teaching (CBLT) strategies can be effectively integrated into classroom lessons. Moreover, the study will attempt to examine the relationship between learners’ prior knowledge and their performance in reading activities. From a theoretical perspective, the research seeks to contribute to the literature by addressing a notable gap in the field related to effective content-based syllabus design.}, number={3}, publisher={Bilim Eğitim Kültür Akademi Derneği}
