One of the most effective strategies to mitigate these losses is the adoption of smart city applications, which play a vital role in all phases of disaster management especially in risk reduction. Purpose: Through technologies such as real-time data analysis and early warning systems, smart cities help identify potential hazards, improve urban safety, and support crisis preparedness. For these benefits to be fully realized, it is essential for disaster managers to develop an awareness of smart city concepts and integrate them into their planning and decision-making processes. Method: This study was conducted using a quantitative research method. Data were collected through a survey to evaluate the awareness levels of smart city applications among managers working in the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorates operating in all 81 provinces of Türkiye. A total of 225 branch managers were invited to participate, and responses were received from 171 participants (RR = 76%). Result: Findings show that disaster managers generally demonstrate strong awareness of smart cities and their components. Regionally, Marmara, Black Sea, and Southeastern Anatolia displayed higher levels of engagement, whereas the Mediterranean region showed lower scores. Conclusion: These findings provide valuable insights for strengthening urban resilience through informed disaster management practices.}, number={2}, publisher={Acil Yardım ve Afet Yöneticileri Derneği}, organization={Bu çalışma herhangi bir kurum tarafından desteklenmemiştir.}
