AB  - Kıbrıs Adası’nın Osmanlı döneminden günümüze kadar uzanan tarihsel süreci, çeşitli siyasi ve stratejik gelişmeler çerçevesinde şekillenmiştir. Osmanlı’nın adadaki iskân politikaları, nüfus yapısını değiştirmiş, ancak 1878’de İngiltere’ye devredilmesiyle Kıbrıs, farklı bir yönetim anlayışıyla karşılaşmıştır. 1960’ta Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti’nin kurulması, adadaki Türk ve Rum toplumları arasında yeni bir dönemi başlatmış, ancak siyasi gerilimler kısa sürede çatışmalara dönüşmüştür. Türkiye ve Yunanistan’ın stratejik çıkarları doğrultusunda yönlendirdiği süreç, 1974’te Türkiye’nin gerçekleştirdiği Barış Harekâtı ile yeni bir aşamaya ulaşmıştır. Tarihsel perspektifle ele alınan bu çalışma, Kıbrıs sorununun çok boyutlu yapısını anlamaya katkı sağlamakta ve çözüm sürecinin uzun yıllar boyunca süreklilik gösterdiğini ortaya koymaktadır.

N2  - The historical process of the island of Cyprus from the Ottoman period to the present day has been shaped by various political and strategic developments. The Ottoman settlement policies on the island changed the population structure, but with the transfer of the island to Britain in 1878, Cyprus faced a different understanding of governance. The establishment of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960 ushered in a new era between the Turkish and Greek communities on the island, but political tensions soon turned into conflicts. The process, guided by Turkey and Greece in line with their strategic interests, reached a new stage with the Peace Operation carried out by Turkey in 1974. This study, which is analyzed from a historical perspective, contributes to understanding the multidimensional structure of the Cyprus problem and reveals that the solution process has been continuous for many years.
