N2 - Today, as a large part of life has moved into digital media, children are in constant interaction with various digital content. Digital media exposure, which is the intense use of digital content, directly affects children's consumption habits. This study aims to examine the effect of digital media exposure on children's consumption trends and to focus on the critical role of families in this process. Additionally, it provides suggestions for future measures. This review, prepared in the light of the mere-exposure effect theory, is based on current and comprehensive literature. The study details the problems caused by digital media exposure. The literature review shows that consumption decisions are not based solely on rational choices. Instead, it was found that digital media has a decisive influence on children's unhealthy food consumption, materialistic values, and attitudes towards phenomena. These findings not only help us better understand the effects of digital media on children but also emphasize the significant role of families in managing this process. The findings also indicate that the children's influence on family consumption decisions is increasing. CR - Aftosmes-Tobio, A., Ganter, C., Gicevic, S., Newlan, S., Simon, C. L., Davison, K.
