AB  - Toplumun kadın ve erkeklerden beklentileri, ağlamaya ilişkin farklı algılara yol açabilir. Bu cinsiyete dayalı algıları sistematik olarak ölçmek önemlidir. Bu nedenle, bu çalışmanın amacı, bu algıları ölçen geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Veriler, Türkiye'nin Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde bulunan Siirt ilinde ikamet eden 18 yaş ve üzeri bireylerden toplanmıştır. Ölçek geliştirme sürecinde, keşifsel (EFA) ve doğrulayıcı (CFA) faktör analizi için iki ayrı örneklem grubundan (EFA: 350; CFA: 250) veriler toplanmıştır. Her iki grup için de kolaylık örneklemesi kullanılmıştır. EFA, ölçeğin iki faktörlü bir yapıya sahip olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. EFA sonuçlarına göre, sekiz maddelik ölçek toplam varyansın %55,74'ünü açıklamaktadır. CFA, sekiz madde ve iki faktörden oluşan yapının iyi uyum indekslerine sahip olduğunu doğrulamıştır. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılığı için toplam Cronbach alfa katsayısı 0,86 olarak hesaplanmış olup, yüksek bir güvenilirlik düzeyine işaret etmektedir. Cinsiyete göre yapılan sabit ölçüm analizleri, ölçeğin kadın ve erkek katılımcılar arasında yapısal olarak karşılaştırılabilir olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Yakınsak geçerlilik analizleri, ölçek maddelerinin ilgili yapılarıyla anlamlı ilişkiler içinde olduğunu gösterirken, ıraksak geçerlilik analizleri ölçeğin iki boyutunun bağımsız olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Bu bulgular, 'Ağlamaya Karşı Sosyal Cinsiyet Algısı Ölçeği'nin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olduğunu göstermektedir. Ölçek, bireylerin ağlamaya ilişkin sosyal cinsiyet algılarını belirlemek için kullanılabilir ve psiko-eğitim ve farkındalık artırma faaliyetleri ile ilgili sosyal araştırmalar için sağlam bir temel sağlayabilir.

N2  - Societal expectations of women and men can result in different perceptions of crying. It is important to systematically measure these gender-based perceptions. The aim of this study is therefore to develop a valid and reliable scale that measures these perceptions. Data were collected from individuals aged 18 and over residing in Siirt, in the Southeast Anatolia Region of Turkey. During the scale development process, data were collected from two separate sample groups (EFA: 350; CFA: 250) for exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory (CFA) factor analysis. Convenience sampling was used for both groups. EFA revealed that the scale has a two-factor structure. According to the EFA results, the eight-item scale explains 55.74% of the total variance. CFA confirmed that the structure, consisting of eight items and two factors, had good fit indices. The total Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the scale's internal consistency was calculated as .86, indicating a high level of reliability. Constant measurement analyses conducted according to gender revealed that the scale is structurally comparable between female and male participants. Convergent validity analyses showed that the scale items have meaningful relationships with the relevant constructs, and divergent validity analyses revealed that the two dimensions of the scale are independent. These findings suggest that the 'Social Gender Perception Scale Towards Crying' is a valid and reliable measurement tool. It can be used to determine individuals' social gender-based perceptions of crying, providing a solid foundation for psycho-educational and awareness-raising activities, as well as related social research.
