Bu bağlamda, birinci sanayi devriminden günümüze kadar uzanan süreçte, her bir sanayi devriminin karakteristik özellikleri analiz edilmiş ve bu dönüşümlerin yüksek öğretim kurumlarının eğitim programlarına yansıması değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca, günümüzde yaşanmakta olan dördüncü sanayi devrimi (Endüstri 4.0) ve ortaya çıkan Toplum 5.0 vizyonu çerçevesinde, üniversitelerin gelecekte nasıl şekilleneceğine dair projeksiyonlar sunulmuştur. Günümüz üniversitelerinin, yalnızca eğitim ve araştırma misyonlarıyla sınırlı kalmayıp, inovasyon, girişimcilik ve bölgesel kalkınma odaklı çok boyutlu bir yapılanma sürecine girmeleri öngörülmektedir. Özellikle yapay zekâ, bilgi teknolojileri, yenilenebilir enerji ve dijital öğrenme gibi alanlarda yaşanan teknolojik ilerlemelerin, üniversitelerin öğretim içeriklerinde köklü değişimlere yol açacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu dönüşümün, öğrencilerin teknik bilgi ve becerilerinin yanı sıra iletişim, takım çalışması ve problem çözme gibi yumuşak becerileri edinmelerini de destekleyeceği öne sürülmektedir. Ayrıca, dijital teknolojilerin yaygınlaşmasının, yükseköğretimde fırsat eşitliği ve erişilebilirliği artırma potansiyeli taşıdığı, özellikle dezavantajlı grupların yükseköğretime katılımını kolaylaştırabileceği değerlendirilmektedir. Bu çerçevede, çalışmanın temel amacı üniversitelerin sanayi devrimleri bağlamındaki evrimini ortaya koymak ve geleceğe yönelik dönüşüm dinamiklerini çok boyutlu biçimde analiz etmektir. In this context, it analyzes the characteristic features of each industrial revolution from the First Industrial Revolution to the present and evaluates how these transformations have been reflected in the educational programs of higher education institutions. Additionally, it offers projections on how universities might evolve in the future within the framework of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) and the emerging Society 5.0 vision.It is anticipated that today’s universities will go beyond their traditional roles in education and research to embrace a multidimensional structure focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional development. Technological advancements—particularly in artificial intelligence, information technologies, renewable energy, and digital learning—are expected to bring fundamental changes to university curricula. This transformation is also believed to support students in acquiring not only technical knowledge and skills but also soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.Furthermore, the widespread adoption of digital technologies has the potential to enhance equity and accessibility in higher education, especially by facilitating the participation of disadvantaged groups. Within this framework, the primary aim of the study is to reveal the evolution of universities in the context of industrial revolutions and to analyze the dynamics of future transformations in a multidimensional manner.
