In this study, which adopted a mixed-methods design, quantitative data were collected from 356 teacher candidates using the 25-item “Multiculturalism Perception Scale” developed by Ayaz (2016). The data obtained from the scale were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, and the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the scale was found to be .920. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with 15 teacher candidates and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The findings show that candidate teachers have a generally positive attitude toward multiculturalism, but their knowledge and competence regarding multicultural pedagogical practices are limited. In addition, conceptual inadequacies were identified in the association of multicultural education with science education. The results highlight the need to strengthen theoretical and practical content related to multicultural education in teacher training programs.}, number={Özel Sayı}, publisher={Başkent Üniversitesi}
