Cultivars under Malatya Ecological Conditions}, journal={Erciyes Tarım ve Hayvan Bilimleri Dergisi}, volume={8}, pages={44–50}, year={2025}, DOI={10.55257/ethabd.1775883}, author={Baysal, Muhsin and Yıldız, Ercan}, keywords={Erik Yetiştiriciliği, Adaptasyon, Çeşit, Meyve Kalitesi.}, abstract={This study was carried out to determine the phenological and fruit quality characteristics of 5 different Japanese plum cultivars (Black Amber, Black Diamond, Queen Rose, Obilnaja, and Angeleno) in Malatya ecological conditions. According to the findings, the first flowering occurred at the earliest in the Obilnaja cultivar (March 20) and the latest in the Angeleno cultivar (March 25). The flowering period of cultivars changed between 13 and 17 days. Statistical differences were determined among the cultivars for fruit characteristics (except flesh firmness). The lowest fruit weight was found in the Obilnaja cultivar at 33 g, while Black Diamond and Angeleno cultivars exceeded 70 g. The highest values for seed weight were obtained from Queen Rose, while the highest values for fruit skin color and TSS were obtained from Angeleno and Black Diamond. The lowest values for total phenolic content and antioxidant activity were found in Queen Rose, while the highest values were obtained from Angeleno. Consequently, the fruit quality of all cultivars was within acceptable limits in Malatya’s ecological conditions.}, number={2}, publisher={Erciyes Üniversitesi}
