Particular attention is given to the Iravani scholarly lineage, a family of Islamic scholars whose contributions constitute an important part of the region’s religious, social, and cultural history. The lineage began with Mirza Muhammad Iravani, born in 1720, and continued with his son, Mirza Abulqasim Iravani (1773), his grandson, Mirza Abdulkarim Iravani (AH 1220–1294 / 1806–1877), and subsequent generations, many of whom also became Islamic scholars. The findings indicate that Abdulkarim Iravani engaged with Sufi thought. His connections with prominent Sufi figures of his time, particularly the sheikhs of the Nimatullahi order, his respect toward dervishes, and his establishment of the Mollabashi Mausoleum—later serving as a burial place for leading Sufis—support this conclusion. In addition, the article discusses the activities of his forebears and descendants, situating Abdulkarim Iravani within a broader intellectual and religious tradition of Western Azerbaijan.}, number={4}, publisher={Hakan YILMAZ}
