KW - Elma KW - Anaç KW - Deneme N2 - Apple rootstock trial with Semi Dwarf Spur type trees of Starkrimson Delicious and Starkspur Golden Delicious on EM IX, EM 26, MM 106, MM III, EM I, EM XXV and Local seedling stock was established at Yalova Horticultural Research Station in 1963 winter. The best result was obtained from MM 106, EM I and local Seedling stock with regard to yield per unit trunk cross section area at the end of the first 5 years. It may be said that the differences within effects of rootstocks to well colored fruit ratios were not significant. The fruits of each tree were graded in 5 different Categories, and EM IX, EM 26, MM 106 gave the best result respectively. Growth ratios of EM IX, EM 26, MM 106, MM III, EM I and EM XXV with regard to tree canopy volume in comparison with Local Seedling stock, crown spread and tree height were shown on Table 5. Finally, Local seedling stock which had the best growth cropping relation and field performance is highly recommended, for high orchard Intensities, MM 106 can be recommended İn the case of using virus free stock material.
