The data were collected from 235 teachers teaching Social Studies course at 4th and 5th grades of primary schools located in the city center and provinces of Bolu in 2010-2011 academic year. The quantitative data were collected through “Evaluating Training Needs Analysis Questionnaire” developed by Kösterelioğlu (2012). To analyze the data collected, the percentage and frequency values of each item in the questionnaire was calculated. The analysis of the quantitative data revealed that classroom teachers’ training needs are at less and moderate levels when the items in the questionnaire are concerned. Additionally, it is observed teachers especially need more training on the following areas, as; the cognitive development characteristics of the students, the identification of individual differences among the students, planning the learning – teaching process regarding the objectives, preparation of concept and mind maps}, number={1}, publisher={Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi}
