In the present review, technical aspects of prosthetic reconstruction are discussed and new synthetic materials are added. These devices are very technique sensitive. In contrast to biological substitutes, technical errors are not tolerated by these devices. It should be noted that the same technical principles are valid for an ideal autogenous reconstruction. It is vital that the Orthopaedic surgeon dealing with prosthetic reconstruction has all the necessary instruments. Synthetic Iigaments Iike allografts, are still in the experimental stage, and their indications are Iimited.
