Methods: The study included 34 patients who were treated conservatively (U-splints) for humeral shaft fractures. Twenty-six patients were males, eight patients were females. The mean age was 32 years (range 9 to 85 years). The fractures were transverse in 16 patients, oblique in nine, comminuted in five, segmental in two, and spiral in two patients. The follow-up period was at least six months. Results: Union in the desired position was achieved in 31 patients (91.2%). The mean duration for union was 3.6 months (range 1.5-7 months). Conclusion: We concluded that the use of U-splints is a successful method in the conservative treatment of humeral shaft fractures}, number={3}, publisher={Turkish Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology}
