Functionally, the menisci have been shown to play a significant role in the knee. The capacity for meniscal healing and repair has also been well documented. The results of arthroscopic repair have been shown to be ar least as good for open repair. Then different arthroscopic meniscus repair techniques have been started to use. More recently, meniscus arrows (Biofix) whick are made of totally absorbable self- reinforced polylactic acid (SRPLA) have been used for meniscus repair. In this experimental study, we commpaired the failure strenths of meniscus arrows different meniscal suturing techniques (vertical and horizontal loop). Meniscal tears created on 15 human menisci which obtained from total knee arthroplasty application were repaired with meniscus arrows, vertical and horizontal loop sutures. Primary stabilities of these repairs were tested with meniscus arrows, vertical and horizontal loop sutures. Primary stabilities of these repairs were tested with İnstron tensometer. There were no significant difference between primary stabilities of each technique statistically. We think that the usage of meniscus arrows in meniscal repair has big advantages like easy application, less time comsuming and less neurovascular risk.}, number={5}, publisher={Turkish Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology}
