N2  - Yazar bumakalesinde Galatlar'ın Phrygia olarak bilinen İç Anadolu Bölgesi'ne gelişindenönce bu coğrafyada var olan yerleşimler, Galatların buradaki varlığı vekurdukları ilişkiler hakkında bilgi vermiştir. Daha sonra Galat idarecilerininkentleşmeye yönelik tutumlarını ele almıştır. Buna göre aynı zaman dilimindediğer bölgelerdeki yönetimlerde kentleşmeye yönelik çeşitli faaliyetlerolmasına rağmen, hem tarihsel hem de coğrafi kaynakların Galat idarecileritarafından buna yönelik bir politikanın izlendiğine dair kanıt sunmadığı ayrıcabunu destekleyecek arkeolojik kalıntıların olmadığı dile getirilmiştir. Aynıtutum, Roma senatörleri ile çok yakın ilişki kuran ve zaman zaman Yunandünyasına hayırseverlik yapan Deiotaros için de geçerli gibi görünmektedir.Aslında Deiotaros kendi sülalesine mensup birisinin adını bir kente vermek içinuygun bir konuma da sahiptir. Bununla birlikte Plutarkhos'un Crassus'un Hayatıisimli (17.1) eserinde, kralı İÖ. 54 yılında bir kent inşasıyla ilişkilendirenmünferit bir örnek bulunmaktadır. Şimdiye kadar hiçbir Galatia yerleşimini bukentle eşleştirmek mümkün olmamakla birlikte bu çalışmada bunun Armenia MinorBölgesi'nde, Ephrates yakınlarında aranabileceği önerilmiştir. Zira oradaByzantion'lu Stephanos'un açıkça Galatlar tarafından kurulduğunu aktardığıSintoion adında Kelt ismi taşıyan bir yerleşim bulunmaktadır. Yazar bu sorunaöneriler getirdikten sonra, Hellenistik krallar arasında oldukça yaygın olan veMithradates VI Eupator tarafından sık sık kullanılmasında olduğu üzere, açıkbir şekilde sülaleden birisiyle isimlendirme geleneği sergileyen, Mithradatestarafından kurulmuş olan sınır kalesi Synhorion konusuna değinmiştir. Buna göreyazar burasının yeniden adlandırılmış veya bundan ziyade Sinorix'in oğluDeiotaros tarafından Sinorix Phourion (App. Mithr. 101. 463; 107. 503) ya dadaha sonra Sinoria (Strab. geogr. 12. 3. 37) formunu alan *Sinorigia olarakyeniden yorumlanmış olabileceğini düşün­mek­tedir. Yazar bu çalışmasındaburasının, Crassus yaşamını kaybetmesine neden olan talihsiz Parthia seferiiçin geldiği sırada, Deiotaros tarafından inşa edilmekte olan kent olduğunuönermektedir.
