The well-known Russian archaeologist N.K. Minko (1880–1920s) acquired this hoard during his excavations in the Simferopol district in 1909–1911. Currently, 13 out of the 15 coins are preserved in the Museum: one coin of Julia Domna, 2 of Gordian III, 8 of Philip I, and 2 of Trajan Decius. In total, five hoards of antoniniani have been recorded in Taurica, including this one. The Minko’s hoard is an important attestation of a payment to a soldier (foederat) of one of the Roman garrisons stationed in Southwestern Taurica in AD 251.}, number={Prof. Dr. Gocha R.
