AB  - In every field of Islamic sciences, it is possible to find important personalities andtexts that influenced the historical evolution and unfolding of this field. As far as thescience of hadith methodology is concerned, a famous text called Ulūm al-hadith by Ibnal-Salah (643/1245), a cornerstone in the hadith science, is essential, for it shapedmany subsequent usūl texts. Ulūm al-hadith that’s why, received important attention bysubsequent scholars and was the main textbook of usul al-hadith for a long time. Inthis article, adventure of this classical book in hadith methodology is summarized inthe historical perspective.
