AB  - In this study, which deals with the dahriyya according to Islamic belief, an etymologicalanalysis of the term dahr will be discussed first. Secondly, we shall identify the Qur'anicverses and prophetic saying in which the derivatives of the word dahr occur. Thirdly wepresent views and remarks of leading kalam-scholars and overview the positions held byvarious Muslim sects over the dahriyya.
