Stroke is classified divided into subtypes: intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and brain ischemia. Each of these categories can be investigated in different causes, clinical pictures and treatment strategies. ICH occurs more commonly in Turkey than in other western countries and carries a significantly high mortality than ischemic stroke. Patients and Methods: We evaluated 67 patients to with mortality due to stroke who were admitted to the Antakya State Hospital. The factors studied were age, gender, risk factors, electrocardiography (ECG) results, blood pressure, fever, blood cells, biochemistry, localization of the lesion, clinical findings, and demographic characteristics. Results: Mortality due to ICH in men was more than women, with half of the deaths occurring within 72 h from the onset. Conclusion: It was found that age, site and cerebral damage, initial level of consciousness have significant effects on the prognosis. The prognosis of stroke remains frequently poor despite the best medical management, control of vital functions and infections.
