N2  - Scalable video coding provides the compression ofa video sequence into a single stream consisting ofseveral substreams with different qualities. Theability of simply switching among the substreamsof a video stream during rate adaptation makes iteasier to design and implement video streamingsystems that employ scalable videos. In this paper,a streaming system developed to investigate theusage of scalable videos in rate adaptationprocess has been introduced and its performanceresults have been presented.
