N2  - In this study, predatory insects associated with peach orchards of Selçuk, Tire, Kemalpaşa, Torbalı and Menemen counties of Izmir province were determined during the period 2004-2005. For this purpose, a total of 402 samples were taken from different peach orchards at one month intervals from April through October vegetation period. As a result of the studies, a total of 51 predaceous insect species belonging to 8 families and 4 orders were recorded. The most abundant predaceous insects were Stethorus gilvifrons Mulsant, Scymnus subvillosus (Goeze), Coccinella septempunctata (L.), Propylaea quatuordecimpunctata (L.), Chilocorus bipustulatus (L.) ve Hippodamia variegata (Goeze) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), Orius niger (Wolff) (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) and Aeolothrips intermedius Priesner (Thysanoptera: Aeolothripidae) in all counties where samplings were conducted.
