Simple experimental research design with pre- and post-test was used in the study. The sample of this study was formed by 12 students who are at the secondary school in the center of Giresun during the 2013-2014 academic year. As a data collections two stage Physical and Chemical Changing Concept tests (PCCT) and about concepts semi-structured interwiev were used. In the analyse of quantitive data SPSS programme was used; in the analyse of qualitative data context analyse method was used. At the end of research, it was concluded that; problem based learning approach helped the students to achieve their conceptual change together with removing their misconceptions on physical and chemical change.
