N2  - The subject of this article which is also prepared as a master thesis is the forest remnants on the area between Kırklareli and Lüleburgaz, to support Dönmez’s idea aboutErgeneBasinis not a natural step area. The forests, which are given to us as one of the most valuable resources by the nature, are destroyed partly or totally through the history. The naked view of today’sErgeneBasinis a result of deforestation for 60 centuries.ErgeneBasinis not a natural step area as some foreign researchers implied, but it is an anthropogenic step area formed at the end of human activity. The climatic and soil conditions of the area improve the thesis. Also, the forest remnants on the area are the most important arguments of the fact.
