The sample group of the study consists of 114 children (54 boys, 60 girls), who received pre-school education in the city center of Muş within 2012-2013 school year, and their parents. Personal Information Form, Picture Sociometry and Parental (Mother-Father) Acceptance Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ) were used as data collection tools. Whether social status of children and parental acceptance and rejection levels differentiate according to the gender of children or not was determined by using independent samples “t” test. Two-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the joint effect of variables of gender and total parental acceptance rejection levels on social standings of 5 year-old children. Simple Linear Regression Analysis was carried out to determine whether there is a predictor effect of warmth-love, hostility-aggression, indifference-neglect, and undifferentiated rejection levels of parents on 5 year-old children’s social status level. SPSS 16.0 was used to analyze the data obtained. As a result of analysis, a significant relationship was found between social status of 5 year- old children and parental acceptance rejection levels. Parents’ warmth-love, hostility-aggression, indifference-neglect, and undifferentiated rejection levels predict social status of children UR - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/sbe/article/247965 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/download/article-file/215721 ER -
