N2  - Throughout the history the human beings, changing from a gathering life style to grubbing the soil, have developed themselves suitable to the their geographical location and adapted to their environment with specialization and division of labor. During this process, the environmental factors were arrenged in line with the suitabilty of located areas and then the first examples of a settled life were formed. Also, in this period the initial urban movements provided economic, political and social cooperation of their wider societies and thus they extracted the first organizational structeres. These organizatoinal forms supplied the initial examples of urbans as the communities arrenged their environment. And, capital accumulation of the Western civilizations exposed the first notion of urbanization and lodged bigger populations inside these settlements. After the Republican period, these actions towards a modern political, social and economic infrastructure accommodated new efforts suitable to these urban movements. Until the 1950’s the inrastructure of Tuekey was established to some extend. However, after this period the new change and development movements, taking place almost in every facet of social life, forced the urban life and implemented policies to become different. The new institutional and organizational structures, as a result of these processes, together with the developments occuring during the urbanization process are discussed in this article. Đn simalar vein, how same or differnt is the place of city of Muğla from the other change efforts during the urbanization process of Turkey is articulated. This process is also very important to expose the urban texture of the city of Muğla from the perspectives of above mentioned issues.
