This study gives basic information to most popular EDA techniques which provide quick and easy insight into data structures. Then transformation for symmetry technique which is used for transforming non-symmetric data by a power transformation is introduced. An application of the technique is presented for non-symmetric data observed in a process capability study. After the transformation, symmetric data is used for capability calculations. Pros and cons of using power transformations for process capability analyses are also discussed. CR - Huber, P. (1981), Robust Statistics, Wiley, Chichester. CR - Hoaglin, D.
