Turkish people, who had nomadic style of life in Middle Asia and like every population, tried to express their own traditions, way of life, with music and rhytm, by making music together. Thus, the changing and developing tradition of collective performance has shaped in natural conditions. After the accepting Islam by Turkish people, the way of performance of Turkish music lived through some changings. The Islamic culture with its spirituality, has integrated with Turkish music and a result of it is a deep meaningly music and way of performance. In this work, the conception of collective performance of Turkish music, which take place in different locations and institutions, is examined in its changings and evolution, since the past until nowadays. In this study, the different music ensembles are examined, which were appeared during the long history of development of collective performance art in Turkish music. The differences between the performance’s styles and also in repertoires of those collectives were analyzed.
