N2  - The tumor size, recommended for 8th TNM classification for non-small cell lung cancer is defined for each centimetersupto 5 cm (T1-c and T2, b) and hence the importance of the prognosis of tumor size is being highlighted. Minimally invasive adenocarcinoma T1 (mi) is added.Without considering the difference of partial or total atelectasis of the lung both of themis placed in the same group (T2). As diaphragmatic invasion shows poor prognosis itis removed toupper category (T4) . As the distance of the tumor to carina does not influence the outcome, proximal tumors are removed to a sub-category (T2). No changes in N identifier is recommended. Finally the number of metastatic organs and number of metastases are also redefined (M1-c).
