The avantages of this method thats couldn’t be obtained from other surface hardening processes are high hardness, high wear resistance, low friction coefficient and high rust resistance etc.Boronizing heat treatment experiments have been done, useying ashes furnace whichdimentions are 200x250x200 mm and the capacity of 1200 o C temperature with ±5 o Csensitivity of micro operation controller and electrical resistance, dijital indicator.Prepared rectangular prizm shaped (20x20x30mm) steel samples were applied at 950 o C, 3 h in the 80 % waterless borax and 20 % ferro silisium mixtured environments. The processes were made in the steel crucible and solid boronizing process was used. The morfology of boride layer that obtained from SEM and EDS analizes, boride layer thickness and microhardness, were examined and the experiment results were discussed.
