In the present case, frozen taxidermywas performed on the calf with ichthyosis foetalisthat is not a common disease in our country. The aim ofthe present study was to demonstrate this simple and inexpensivetechnique is able to use to preserve dermatopathicbodies. The calf with ichthyosis foetalis was prepared fordehydration and saved in the cold weather at -5 0C store forsix months. After the taxidermy was thawed at room temperature,it was investigated for histo-pathologically andmicrobiologically. Finally, the disappeared hyperaemic areaswere stained to imitate post-mortem appearance. Theresults revealed that hyperaemic areas were disappearedafter frozen taxidermy and the skin was become though likea bark and its appearance was natural. The microbiologicalresults showed that there was no pathogenic bacterialgrowth except for a few saprophyte bacilli. It is concludedthat didactical embalming could be performed to demonstratedermatophaties with the technique that does not requireany chemical application.
