N2  - The aim of this study was to testthe recommended techniques of in vitro fertilizationin Iriice as an expeıimental animaLAdult female mice of Swiss albino strainwere superovulated by intrapeıitonal injection ofPMSG and HCG 48 hours apart. They were killed16 hours after injection of HCG and their eggswere recovered under warm oil in a plastic dishcontaining 0.4 ml of ineubatian medium.Sperms recovered from cauda epididymis ofadult males of the same strairi were suspended ina medtum and incubated at 37° C under % 5 co2in air for 1.5-2 hours before they were used for insemination.The ineubatian medium was TifY mediumcontaining glucose, sodium pyruvate, bovinealbumtn and antibiotics.At the time of insemination, a drop of spermsuspension (10-20 J.L].) was added to the mediumcontatning egg clot. Eggs and sperms were incubatedin ineubatian medium for 6 hours. In the fırstgroup, fertilized eggs were left into the ~ame medium.In the second group they were transferred tothe development medium (Modifıed Whitten's) withoutsodium lactate and incubated until they wereexamtned under stereo-microscope.As a conclusion, in this study fertilized eggsand 2-cell stage embıyos were obtained but furtherstage of embıyos {morulae, blastocyst) couldn't bereached.
