N2  - The Democratic Party period which is an important milestone in the transition to competetive democracy in Turkey, has been mentioned in many local an doutsider studies. The effect and the interaction of politicalchanges in thementionedperiod on the opposition, media, civil societyand many other areas can be accounted as a starter of painful periods which would be felt in Turkish politics. This work which is tried to be introduced reveals the tensions created by thepolitical polarizationin Turkey between the periods of 1955 and 1960 based upon the observations of a journalist who has closely followed the process. Inclusion of some internal and external developments with their social and humanist dimension contributes to a better understanding of the process leading to May, 27 in this work, which lightens the extremely tense political atmosphere of that period
