N2  - This is the transcription of an interview made with Prof. Dr. Ergün Aybars who is the founding director of the Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History at Dokuz Eylül University. It was broadcasted in a television program called "Atatürk is with Us" at Ege TV on 8 Nisan 2006.The interview with Aybars, who is known for his works on the history of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Revolution, was about the "Secular" identity of the Turkish Revolution and the historical significance of secularism. The transcript is particularly important in the sense that it includes the historical worldview and intellectual perspective of Aybars, as well as for being a historical document for guiding prospective historians in the future.
