N2  - Vicente Blasco Ibañez (1867-1928), a world-renowned Spanish novelist, journalist andpolitician, wrote many novels like Reeds and Mud (Cañas y Barro), Airs and Graces (Arroz yTartaña) and Between Orange Trees (Entre Naranjos), the setting and the theme of which arecentred on his native land Valencia where he spent most of his life and the Valencians. Ibanezalso has a book titled East (El Oriente) in which he sincerely expressed his impressions aboutTurks and the city of İstanbul after a trip to Istanbul in the early 20th century through thelegendary Orient Express train .The novel Between Orange Trees (Entre Naranjos) is set in the town Alcira in the southof Valencia. The novel tells a sentimental love story - the love flourishing between Rafael, apromising son of a well-to-do family, and Leonora, an opera singer, during the spring monthswhen orange trees begin to blossom in a Mediterranean climate - which does not end happilybecause of the interference of Rafael’s family. In his novel, Ibañez not only tells a love story butalso reflects upon the realities of political life and the social pressures imposed by the traditionsin that period. This paper titled “The Spring in Vicente Blasco Ibañez’s novel Between OrangeTrees” deals with the depictions of spring, the naturalistic features and the season-peoplesocietyrelationship in the naturalist writer Ibañez’s novel Between Orange Trees.
