However, there is need for some studies primarily in the general level and poet period in order to do such a study. In the study prepared based on this need, We tried to determine his definition of poetry, the words he uses, what he understands of poetry and the characteristics of poetry, briefly his individual poetics, by analyzing Keçecizâde İzzet Molla’s Divan . Keçecizâde İzzet Molla is considered one of the master poets in 19th century classic poem period. He is also important for his effort to keep alive the tradition of Divan poetry and to reflect the poetics of this period. In the last century, a different trend was formed compared to the previous period. In this literary tradition which an innovation started both cultural and literary sense, Izzet Molla’s position is unique. Each poet should have a perception of poetry in accordance to his own personality, skills, environment and period. In this study, the expressions which are directly or indirectly related to poetry in poet’s Divân-ı Bahar-ı Efkâr work, were identified. According to these expressions; Poet’s thoughts about both his own poems and his general thoughts on poetry context were given by making some classifications. We used concepts and expressions mentioned for different reasons in various places in Keçecizâde İzzet Molla’s Divan in order to state these judgements. Of course, our poet does not always say ‘‘this is poetry" or "poetry should be like this" sometimes using some expressions such as " my poem is like that" he indirectly points us a way to generalization. We reached some conclusions about the poetry of Kececizade Izzet Molla based on numerous examples like this.
