The male and females were evaluated between eachother. Beckdepression and Beckanxietyscales were used to evaluatedepression andanxiety.Student's T-test wasperformed for parametric data A P levelof < 0,05 was taken as statistically significant. Results: The median score of BDS was 11.37±6.3 in group 1 and 19.50±2.82in group 2 in male patients (p < 0.05). The median score of BAS was 12.33±6.23 in group 1 and 15.69±24.73in group 2 inmale patients (p < 0.05). The medianscore of BAS in female patients was 11.64±5.66 versus18.25±9.69 in group 1 and group 2 (p < 0.05). Group2 female patients showed significantly higher results in BDS test than group 1female patients, p < 0.05.Discussion: The result of this study showed that chronic otitis media had negative effects on anxiety anddepression. Despite there are many studies on the relationship between chronicotitis media accompanied with hearing loss, tinnitus andanxiety/depression; our article is thefirst article in literature evaluating the effect of pure chronic otitis mediaon anxiety/depression.
