N2  - Determining the dominant learning styles of pre-service teachers and exploring that if these styles affectedby variables such as gender, grade, pre-school education, department graduated from high school, educationlevels of parents or not have been aimed in this study. Survey method among descriptive methods has been usedin the study. Sample of the study is total 193, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders of pre-service teachers at EducationDepartment of Rize University in 2007- 2008 autumn educational term. The dominant learning style of 193 preserviceteachers in this study have been determined by using Kolb Learning Styles Inventory. Data about thesestyles held by using SPSS package programme, are analyzed by using descriptive statistical methods and chisquaretest. Pre-service teachers are seen generally as ones who diverger and accomodator dominant learningstyles. Although learning styles show significant difference according to grade levels, it is found out that they arenot influenced by the variables such as gender, pre-school education, department graduated from high schooland education levels of parents.
