KW - imidazolinone herbisit KW - IMI çeltik çeşidi N2 - The objective of this study was to develop IMI(Imidazolinone) group herbicide resistant rice varieties to control weedy rice(red rice) and the weed gained resistance against conventional rice herbicidesin the rice fields. A resistant rice variety to IMI group herbicide wasprovided from abroad and it was utilised as resistance source in this study.This variety was crossed with  Turkishcommercial rice varieties at Trakya Agricultural Research Institute in 2007 andthirteen cross combinations were obtained. Some segregating material werecreated and the modified bulk selection method was practiced for the selection,for this the planting and harvesting were done as bulk at F2generation and the harvesting was practiced as single plant selection at F3generation. After selection the pure lines, they were tested in observationnursery, preliminary yield and yield trial, respectively. The yield trials wereconducted in randomised complete block experiment design with threereplications. Some selected IMI rice lines were tested in the yield trials in2013 and 2014. Five of them had good performance in term of rice yield,agronomic and quality traits. They were nominated  for registration as commercial varieties inthe end of 2014. At the same time, the production permission was taken two ofthem, under the name of IMI 2521 and IMI 2554. CR - Anonim, 2014.
