N2  - The relationshipsamong total 76 ecotypes of alfalfa (Medicagosativa L.), 70 landraces and 6 cultivars, collected in Van and neighboringprovinces were investigated in the present study. In the molecular method,Twelve ISSR primers were used and 85 polymorphic bands were obtained. Thegenetic distances between the ecotypes were expressed by Euclideancoefficients. The genetic variation among alfalfa ecotypes was examined in 16groups based on the localities, landraces and check cultivars. The highestgenetic variations and polymorphisms (H = 0.245, I = 0.366, and 70.59%) werefound in Gurpinar localities. As a result, a high genetic diversity was foundout among the ecotypes and cultivars of allogamous Medicago sativa L.
