N2  - This study examines the effect ofthe rate of women’s employment on income distribution in Turkey between 2004and 2015. The overall income generated by everyone, without exception, in asociety forms the gross domestic product of that country. The societies with lower rates of women in employment tend torecord relatively lower levels of gross domestic product compared to those withgreater number of women in employment. Given thatwomen are employed in all kinds of sectors ranging from agriculture to servicestoday, it is evident that income distribution is relatively more equal insocieties with greater number of women in employment. On the assumption that the half ofthe population of the world, accordingly of Turkey just as each country in theworld, is female; it has been observed that the income inequality in Turkey hasdecreased with the increasing employment of women. In 2004-2015 periods, 1% increase in FER in Turkey isexpected to create a 2.79% decrease in GINI.
