(Who is an Epigraphist?)}, journal={Türk Dünyası Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi}, pages={117–126}, year={2016}, author={Alyılmaz, Cengiz}, keywords={Yazıt bilimi,yazıt bilimci,(Kök) Türk harfli yazıtlar,; Epigraphy,epigraphist,inscriptions in the (Kok)turks letters}, abstract={      Eski Türk boy ve topluluklarına ait (Kök) Türk harfli yazıtların önemli bir kısmı   bugün Asya Kıtası’nın farklı bölgelerinde bulunmaktadır.       Önceleri bilim dünyasında yalnızca Türk kağan ve kumandanlarına ait bazı yazıtlar  (Köl Tigin Yazıtı, Bilge Kağan Yazıtı, Bilge Tonyukuk Yazıtları; genel adıyla Yenisey  Yazıtları ve Talas Yazıtları) bilinirken bugün gelinen noktada (Kök) Türk harfli  yazıtların sayısı yüzlerle ifade edilir duruma gelmiştir.      (Kök) Türk harfli yazıtların sayısı arttıkça yazıtlara olan ilgi de artmış; yazıt  bilimciler kadar yazıt bilimiyle hiçbir ilgisi olmayan kimseler de (mühendisler, doktorlar,  veteriner hekimler, müzisyenler, iş adamları…) bu alanın “uzman”ı olarak her  yerde boy göstermeye başlamışlardır.       Yazıt bilimi ciddi bir bilim dalıdır; akademik bir eğitimi, bilgiyi, birikimi ve deneyimi  gerektirir. Yazıt bilimci ise, bu alanda eğitim öğretim görmüş; bilgili, birikimli  ve deneyimli kişidir.      Bu bildiride (Kök) Türk harfli yazıtlar bağlamında “Yazıt bilimci kimdir?” sorusunun  cevabı dikkatlere sunulmaktadır. Abstract      A significant number of the inscriptions in the (Kok)turks letters belonging to the  former Turkish tribes and communities are today located in different regions of the  Asian continent.      While previously only some inscriptions belonging to the Turkish Khans and commanders  (Kul Tigin Inscriptions, Bilge Khagan Inscriptions, Bain Tsokto Inscriptions,  and generally speaking Talas inscriptions and Yenisei inscriptions) were known to the  world of science, today the number of the inscriptions in the (Kok)turks letters has  reached hundreds.      As the number of the inscriptions in the (Kok)turks letters has increased so does  the interest in these inscriptions. Epigraphists as well as those who have absolutely  nothing to do with epigraphy (engineers, doctors, veterinarians, musicians, business  people, etc.) have begun to appear everywhere as an “expert” in the field.       Epigraphy is a serious branch of science and requires academic education, information,  knowledge and experience. An epigraphist is a knowledgeable, qualified and   experienced person who has been trained in this field.       In this paper, the answer to the question “Who is an epigraphist?” is presented to  the attention with respect to the inscriptions in the (Kok)turks letters. }, number={42}, publisher={Türk Dil Kurumu}
