The structural properties of the Zig-Zag nano shape thin films were determined by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis and Raman spectroscopy. Surface and cross-sectional morphology of Zig-Zag nano shape a-Si/c-Si heterojunctions were investigated by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM). The electrical and photovoltaic properties of these heterojunction have been investigated by means of dc currentvoltage (I-V) measurements within at room temperature in dark and light conditions. Electrical parameters such as barrier height ΦB , diode ideality factor ɳ, series resistance Rs and shunt resistance Rsh were determined from the I–V characteristic in the dark conditions for Zig-Zag nano shape a-Si/c-Si heterojunctions were found to be 0.83 eV, 3.59, 14.3 kΩ and 0.65 MΩ respectively. The Zig-Zag nano shape a-Si/c-Si heterojunctions show a photovoltaic behavior and the photovoltaic parameters, such as open circuit voltage and short circuit current were obtained as Voc=232 mV and Jsc=22 mA/cm2, respectively. The porous morphology of this Zig-Zag nano structure has important features in photovoltaic devices and solar cell technology.
